75 Minutes to Celebrate 75 years!
2026 marks the 75th anniversary of Maitland Conservation. We’re hosting several events to celebrate this milestone including the 75-Minute Hiking Challenge. It’s simple – and you have a chance one of three prize packages.
Spend 75-minutes exploring one of our Conservation Areas and enter the draw for a chance to to win. You’re welcome to visit any of our properties but we encourage you to take a walk at one of Conservation Areas where there are maintained trails:
- George Taylor Conservation Area – 42679 Canada Company Rd., Municipality of Huron East
- Falls Reserve Conservation Area – 80900 Falls Reserve Line, Benmiller (day-use pass required)
- Naftel’s Creek Conservation Area – 79154 Bluewater Highway, south of Goderich
- Wawanosh Valley Conservation Area – 38854 Nature Centre Rd., Township of North Huron
- Gorrie Conservation Area – 2033 Victoria St., Gorrie, Township of Howick. The Township of Howick maintains a walking trail on the north side of the property.
- Lake Wawanosh Conservation Area – 85442 Creek Line, Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh. The trails on this property are not maintained but it’s a great spot to kayak or canoe. Hitting the water for 75-minutes definitely counts!
- Brussels Conservation Area – 80 Alfred St., Brussels, Municipality of Huron East. An urban park that’s perfect for short walks.
Once you’ve completed a 75-minute walk, submit an entry for a chance to win one of 3 prize packages:
- Adult Camping Package – sleeping bag, camping voucher, cooler and more
- Adult Birding Package – binoculars, bird feeder and seed, field guides and more
- Children’s Nature Explorer Package – insect/butterfly net, ID books, children’s binoculars, nature journal, insect viewer and more

The Fine Print
You do not need to live within the MVCA area of jurisdiction to win. You’re welcome to enter more than once, however you may only win once.
Entries will be accepted until noon on Wednesday December 16, 2026. Winners will be selected through a random draw conducted on the afternoon of December 16, 2026, at the MVCA Administration Centre in Wroxeter. Winners will be notified on December 17, 2026.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and may not be exchanged or substituted.
Information collected on the entry form will be used solely for administering the draw and will not be shared or retained beyond this purpose.
Maitland Conservation staff will coordinate with the winners to arrange the most suitable method for delivering the prize package.
