A number of scenarios have been developed to address the impacts of flooding in Harriston. The ideas for these scenarios have come from Harriston residents and business owners, upstream and downstream landowners, municipal staff and Maitland Conservation staff. With support from engineers and Conservation Authority staff, mapping has been developed to show the approximate benefits of each scenario along with very tentative cost estimates.
The step will involve the Town of Minto developing a watershed study of the area and evaluating the scenarios to reduce the number of options.
