Under the direction of the Township of North Huron and the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, Maitland Conservation has begun preparations to update the Wingham and area floodplain mapping. In conjunction with Maitland Conservation, GeoProcess Research Associates Inc. will carry out the technical components of the project including a topographic survey of the river channel. This survey work is scheduled to begin the week of August 5th, 2019. Depending on weather conditions the survey work should be completed by the end of the month.
The survey will focus on the area within top-of-bank sections of the river channel but workers may occasionally need to access the adjacent floodplain.
