Maitland Conservation is wrapping up a three-year project to update shoreline hazard mapping along the Lake Huron shoreline. The updated mapping will provide staff and landowners with an improved tool to help reduce the risk of loss of life and property damage due to flooding and erosion.
This project does not involve changes to Maitland Conservation’s shoreline policies.
A Public Information Centre (PIC) is planned for March 7th. The PIC will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Goderich located at 390 Parsons Court. Staff from Maitland Conservation and Zuzek Inc. will be on hand to review the draft mapping with landowners and answer questions about the mapping process.
The draft mapping is now available for viewing at: Shoreline Hazard Mapping Update
