Watershed-Based Resource Management Strategy

Watershed-Based Resource Management Strategy

November 21, 2024

Maitland Conservation has developed a Watershed-Based Resource Management Strategy to meet the requirements set out in Section 21.1 of the Conservation Authorities Act and Ontario Regulation 686/21 (Appendix A). After a public commenting period, MVCA Members approved the strategy at their November 20, 2024 meeting. The strategy will now be submitted to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.

This strategy is based on the three-year work plan that was created by Maitland Conservation in October 2023. Posted below is a summary of the strategy focusing on the key activities that Maitland Conservation will be undertaking from 2024 to 2026.

Watershed Strategy Summary

The full watershed strategy, including an overview of how the watershed has changed over the past 200 years, is now available. This watershed characterization provides context for our current services and programs. The full strategy is posted below.
